Celebrating Our Village Gardens
On Wednesday 2 September, Hawkhurst in Bloom gathered to celebrate the wonderful gardens and gardening talent in our village at a special awards event held at the Peter Buswell offices.
This year’s garden competition gave us another opportunity to celebrate the time, care and creativity that residents put into making Hawkhurst such a beautiful place to live.
We are delighted to announce that Peter Andrews was the outstanding winner, taking home both Best Front Garden and Best Hanging Basket. Peter’s garden and hanging basket were admired for their colour, creativity and beautifully maintained planting.
Mary Curry was awarded Runner-Up for Best Front Garden, with her garden also receiving high praise from the judges.
A huge congratulations to Peter and Mary, and our thanks to everyone who took part. Every garden entered helped to showcase the character and community spirit of Hawkhurst.
We would also like to thank Peter Buswell for kindly hosting the awards at their offices and everyone who helped make the competition and celebration possible.
Most importantly, thank you to all the gardeners of Hawkhurst. Whether you have a large garden, a tiny courtyard, a window box or a colourful hanging basket, your efforts help make our village happy, colourful and blooming.
Congratulations to our winners — and we look forward to seeing even more wonderful gardens next year!
