June 2026: Our Planters Are Complete For The Season!

If you’ve walked through the village over the last few days, you might have noticed a brilliant burst of new colour as our seasonal planting is officially complete!

What’s Growing in Our Planters?

We’ve designed this year’s displays to be a feast for the eyes while remaining resilient enough to thrive right through until the autumn. We focused on a beautiful mix of vibrant focal flowers, and soft, cascading trailers to give the planters a lush, overflowing look.

Depending on which planter you stop to admire, you’ll catch glimpses of:

  • Geraniums & Begonias: Providing robust, weather-resistant structural colour that will act as the anchor for the displays all summer.

  • Osteospermum (African Daisies): Bringing beautiful, daisy-like flower heads that open up brilliantly to soak up the daytime sun.

  • Antirrhinums (Snapdragons): Adding that crucial architectural height and vertical interest in the arrangements.

  • Busy Lizzies (Impatiens): Delivering an absolute carpet of nonstop, shade-tolerant colour to keep the displays looking packed and vibrant.

  • Lobelia: Cascading beautifully over the edges of the troughs, softening the borders with dense clouds of delicate blue and white tones.

  • Cineraria: Offering the perfect contrast with its frosted, silver-grey filigree foliage, which makes the bright jewel tones of the surrounding flowers truly pop.

Beyond looking beautiful, these planters play a vital role in supporting our local biodiversity. By mixing open-faced flowers like the Osteospermum with classic bedding favorites, we’re providing a welcome pitstop for bees, butterflies, and other essential pollinators, ensuring Hawkhurst remains a green corridor for wildlife.

Happy Gardening Hawkhurst!
